Summer Afternoon

Verses & Rhymes

Yellow and black, the sun was dark and darker it got,                                                           in this grand and stark, lovely summer afternoon.

Winged and flat, never to look back,                                                                                               the sun reached far behind the wooden skyline.

Flip and Flop, falling from the top onto the swaying greenery.                                             The sky at night, though not too bright, brought me clarity. That-

Slow or Fast, the day had passed and all I’d done                                                                     was sit and watch the last flight of a butterfly.
